WHO WE ARE

Hope Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, evangelistic, non-ecumenical, non-charismatic church. At HBC the preaching and teaching of the whole counsel of God (KJV) is our foundation. We are a church that wants to being glory to our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ!

VALUES

At Hope Baptist Church we strive to emphasize the Word of God and the importance of our Christian walk. We desire to share the Gospel of Christ with others and grow in our walk with the Lord. We believe that the Bible is God's Holy Word and that we as believers should strive to imitate Christ in our daily lives. We also value the fellowship and  encouragement gained from time spent with others of like faith, and believe in the importance of attending church for all of these purposes.

VISION

Hello and welcome to Hope Baptist Church’s website.   We invite you to attend our church services as well.   The Apostle Philip, after he met Jesus, went and found Nathanael and said to him:  “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus….” (John 1:45).    This is exactly what we wish to express as well. Hope Baptist Church is a place where the Bible is taught and preached, a place where God is revealed!  Hope Baptist Church is a place where God is worshipped, a place where one can serve, a place….for you!   “Come and see”  (John 1:46)

Part of our Articles of Faith

The Bible

II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:20-21; Matt. 5:18; John 16:12-13

We believe that the Bible, consisting of 66 books making up the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Divine communication from God to man. It is inerrant in the original writings, infallible, God breathed, and the only and final authority of faith, practice, and life.

The Godhead

Deut. 6:4; II Co. 13:14; Ps. 83:18; Ex. 15:11; Mark l2:30; Matt.28:19; John 10:30; Eph. 2:18; Jer. 10:10; James 1:17; Hab. 1:12; Ps. 139:1-6; Phil. 2:5-6; I Co. 8:6; John 15:26

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - co-eternal in being co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, having the same attributes and perfection, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and praise, and love.

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

(John 1:1,14; Luke 1:35; Matt. 1:21)(Rom. 3:24-25; I Pet. 2:24; I Pet. 1:3-5; Eph. 1:7)(Acts 1:9-10; Heb 7:25; Rom. 8:34; I John 2:1-2)

Briefly describe your degree and any other highlights about your studies you want to(a) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin, Mary, in order that he might reveal God and redeem sinful men.share. Be sure to include relevant skills you gained, accomplishments you achieved or milestones you reached during your education.(b) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a vicarious substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal physical resurrection from the grave. (c) We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of priest, that is, Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

(John 16:8-11, 13; II Co. 3:6; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 1:13-14; 1 John 2:20, 27; Eph. 5:8)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a personal being who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration, indwelling and sealing all believers unto the day of redemption. We also believe that He is the Divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth; and that it is the privilege and duty of all saved to be filled with the Spirit.

The Fall of Man

Gen. 1:27; Eccl. 7:29; Acts 17:26-29; Gen. 2:16-17; Gen 3:6-24; John 3:6; Ps. 51:5; Rom. 5:12, 15-19; Rom. 8:7; Isa. 53:6; Gen. 6:12; Rom. 3:9-18; Eph. 2:13; Rom. 1:32; Rom. 2:1-16; Gal. 3:10; Matt. 20:15; Ezk. 18:19-20; Gal; 3:22

We believe that man was created without sin, under the law of his maker, until through the temptation of Satan he voluntarily transgressed and fell from his sinless state, in consequence of which all of mankind are now sinners, not by constraint but by choice; being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the Law of God, positively inclined to evil, and therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin without defense or excuse.

Salvation

I Pet. 1:18-19; Rom. 6:23b; I John 1:7; John 3:16; Gal. 2:21

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.

Eternal Security

John 6:37-40; Rom. 8:1,38,39; I Co. 1:4-8; I Pet. 1:5; Rom. 13:13-14; Gal. 5:13; Titus 2:1 1-15

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever, and we believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh.

Sanctification

Heb. 10:10; I Co. 6:11; I Co. 1:30; John 17:17; Phil. 1:9-11; Eph. 5:26-27; I Thes. 4:3; Rom. 1:17; II Co. 3:18; Col. 3:4; Phil. 3:21; Prov. 4:8; Phil. 2:12-13; Eph. 1:4; II Pet. 1:5-7; I John 3:2; Phil. 3:12-16; Gal. 5:17; Rom. 7:18-25; Acts 2:8; Acts 10:46; I Co. 12:11, 30; I Co. 13:8

We believe that sanctification is presented in three phrases in Scripture; that believers have been made partakers of Christ’s holiness; that they are being progressively sanctified; and that they will be completely sanctified at His glorious coming; that there is no complete eradification of the old nature in progressive sanctification; and that speaking in tongues is no sign of either regeneration, sanctification, baptism, or filling of the Holy Spirit, nor is the New Testament gift of tongues in existence today, but has ceased.
